The Gusi Peace Prize is an annual international award presented by the Gusi Peace Prize Foundation, honoring individuals and organizations worldwide for their contributions to global peace and progress in fields such as human rights, education, and the arts. A 13-member international committee carefully reviews over 1,000 nominations each year, with final approval given by the Philippine Senate. In 2008, the Philippine government officially recognized the award ceremony by designating the fourth Wednesday of November as "Gusi Peace Prize International Friendship Day."
